Sleep is not a luxury, it is a necessity! Sleep is hugely important for our children’s growth and development. People tend to be very protective of their sleeping environment; we all like things the same every night and we don’t like any surprises, so making a big change to anyone’s current sleep habits will definitely be met with some protest. The same will be true for your child. However, the amount of crying really depends on the individual child and their personality and temperament. Some tears of frustration are almost guaranteed, but when they happen in a loving environment with mom or dad right there for reassurance and comfort, then you can be assured that your child will feel secure and loved, not scared or abandoned.
We will work together to train your child in the gentlest way possible while still making progress. I do think it helps to look at the big picture. Sleep training is very short-term for a huge long-term gain that is beneficial for the entire family!
